Peach schnapps cocktails

As well as being sweet, peach schnapps cocktails tend to be very refreshing, and a lot of them strike me as summer drinks. Sound good? Let’s get mixing!

What is peach schnapps?

We go into more detail about what peach schnapps is here, but essentially it’s a peach version of the popular schnapps.

So, what’s schnapps?

Schnapps is a German word for any kind of strong alcoholic drink, and over the years it’s become known as a style of drink. It can take several forms:

• Distilled fruit brandy.
• Herbal liqueurs.
• Infusions, where flavour is extracted from plants using a solvent such as water, oil or, in the case of schnapps, alcohol.
• Flavoured liqueurs. This is where peach schnapps comes in.

Classic peach schnapps cocktails

Peach schnapps is a key ingredient in a few modern classics that you’ll want to make and drink right away. These include:

• Woo Woo, a refreshing mix of vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice that’s entirely too drinkable.
• Sex on the Beach, a classic holiday cocktail that mixes vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice and cranberry juice for a sweet thirst-quencher.
• Sex in the Driveway, a boozy yet refreshing drink that mixes vodka, peach schnapps, blue curaçao and Sprite.
• Fuzzy Navel, a staple drink of my youth that mixes peach schnapps with orange juice for something simple yet refreshing.

What peach schnapps should I use?

Use whatever peach schnapps you have in the house, or prefer, for these cocktails. But if you’re on the hunt for a new bottle, we recommend Archers.
